A tragic mishap on the set of Eddie Murphy's "The Pickup" in metro Atlanta has left two crew members with serious injuries, sources report. The victims were part of a larger group of eight that were hurt during a stunt gone awry. According to Fox5 Atlanta, family members have disclosed the names of the two men as Marvin Haven and Wayne Rowe, both of whom are now facing a long road to recovery.

In a devastating turn of events, Haven was admitted to the ICU with injuries that included broken ribs, multiple neck and back fractures, a punctured lung, and a skull fracture that necessitates reconstructive surgery. According to their GoFundMe pages, set up to help cover their medical expenses, both men sustained extensive injuries. As of the latest reports, supporters have raised nearly $147,000 to aid with their hefty medical bills.

The accident unfolded at Stockmar Airport in Villa Rica, where an armored car and a BMW X5 were caught in a stunt sequence that went disastrously wrong. After making contact during the stunt, both vehicles ended up overturning, as stated by the Georgia State Patrol. While two suffered life-threatening injuries, a total of eight individuals were affected by the incident.

The film industry's camaraderie has shone through in the wake of the calamity. Christopher Escobar, the Atlanta Film Society executive director, reflected on the industry's solidarity. "The outpouring doesn’t surprise me. I mean thankfully these incidents don’t happen that often, although it does always feel like too often," he told Atlanta News First. "But one of the things I’ve been able to witness is what happens to one person, it feels like it happens to everybody in the industry."

Meanwhile, in response to the outpouring of aid, Haven's GoFundMe page alone raked in over $115,000 by Monday afternoon. When prompted for comment about the on-set accident, Amazon MGM Studios was reached out to by Atlanta News First, but at this time, no response has been provided. The film community continues to rally around its own, with gestures of support still pouring in for the injured crew members.
