Gunfire rocked the Atlanta streets once again over the weekend in separate incidents that left one man injured and another dead in the city's ongoing battle with violent crime, the authorities said.
On Saturday afternoon, a 45-year-old man became the latest victim of the city's gun violence after he was shot in the 900 block of Washington Street SW; Atlanta Police Department Zone 1 officers promptly responded to the call around 2:08 p.m., as reported by FOX 5 Atlanta, arriving on the scene to find the wounded individual who was subsequently transported to a local hospital, and was still alive at the time of transport.
The attempted search for answers hasn't yet bore fruit for law enforcement as they have yet to disclose substantial details regarding a suspect or the circumstances that led to the shooting, although investigations are active and ongoing.
Tragedy struck again not far away in northwest Atlanta's Washington Park area, when another man was found dead with "apparent gunshot wounds"; this fatal encounter occurred in the 1000 block of Westmoor Drive NW, officers responded, and discovered the male victim who was pronounced dead by the time they arrived, this according to a report by Atlanta News First.
