Tragedy struck Mustang Ridge yesterday evening when a pickup truck collided with a dump truck, claiming the life of an individual. According to FOX San Antonio, the fatal smash-up occurred around 5 p.m. on the 15900 block of Camino Real, a stretch of road also known as State Highway 21.
The aftermath was a display of swift emergency responses; Mustang Ridge Police officers were on scene almost immediately after being dispatched, and they initiated lifesaving efforts until Travis County Fire Rescue & EMS took the lead however their attempts were in vein as the victim was pronounced dead right where the wreckage lay, in the middle of the road.
Authorities including the Mustang Ridge Police Department are currently investigating the details leading up to the deadly encounter between the two vehicles. They were joined by personnel from the Travis County Sheriff's Office and the Texas Department of Public Safety.
The name of the deceased has not yet been released pending notification of next of kin, and further specifics of the crash have not been made available.
