The ordeal began when a woman entered the complex's office at The View apartments and made a threat to the employee, followed by dropping off the item that triggered the evacuation of the nearby areas. A handful of apartments were cleared out as a precaution, after which an investigation confirmed the item as an explosive. Several streets, including a stretch of 24th Street between Pinchot Avenue and Earll Drive, were shut down for the safety of community members, as noted by AZ Family.
The woman responsible for planting the explosive was detained and ultimately arrested. She is expected to face charges and will be booked into jail, as per AZ Family. In the wake of her detention, the bomb squad continued their sweep and confirmed that no additional explosives were found on the premises, allowing relieved residents to return to their homes.
Following the thorough search, the roads were eventually reopened as the bomb squad concluded operations at the apartment community, as detailed by FOX 10 Phoenix.
