Kennesaw's Smith-Gilbert Gardens is gearing up for a new event that's all the buzz. The gardens announced "Pollinator Palooza," which will kickstart their annual "A Garden with Wings" Butterfly Exhibit come June 1. According to the garden's announcement on the City of Kennesaw official website, this year's exhibit has grown wings, running for two full months until July 31.

The event will let visitors sneak a peek at the exhibit for free – a bonus usually costing an extra ticket. Not just offering a visual feast of butterflies, the event will feature arts and crafts, and booths from community partners like Bird Georgia and the Cobb County Master Gardeners, focused on the conservation of these vital creatures. With admission to the Butterfly Exhibit normally requiring a separate ticket, Dave Simpson, Executive Director of Smith-Gilbert Gardens, said, "This event will offer visitors a unique opportunity to learn about the crucial role of pollinators and the plants that support their survival." as per the City of Kennesaw official website.

From Tuesday to Saturday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., starting on June 1, garden goers can get up close and personal with butterflies at every stage of their lifecycle. The Butterfly Exhibit also doubles as an educational experience with the spotlight on plant species vital to butterfly survival, like the tulip poplar and passionflower vine – caterpillar hotspots. Members are free to flutter through at no cost, while non-members will have to purchase a $3 Butterfly House ticket, available online or at the Gardens Gift Shop. The gardens suggest making an advanced purchase online.

Sponsored by the Cobb EMC Foundation and the Cherokee Garden Club, the exhibit has the community's backing. With more information about Pollinator Palooza and the butterfly exhibit available on the City of Kennesaw official website, Smith-Gilbert Gardens looks to be the go-to spot for families and nature enthusiasts to explore the delicate dance of pollination that keeps our ecosystems thriving.
