A repeat offender was cuffed for a string of burglaries in Splendora after police recognized him from security footage during a routine investigation at a local business. According to the Splendora Police Department's Facebook post, the familiar face led officers on a fast track to the suspect's location, where he was nabbed trying to make a transaction with a stolen credit card.
The burglar, whose identity was already on the radar of the local law enforcement due to prior run-ins, clearly didn't learn his lesson after being extended a lifeline just a day earlier when one Splendora cop had taken him to a rehab center, unfortunately, the suspect returned to his alleged unlawful ways, committing more thefts. In his possession were other items stolen from the Flying J, along with the credit card he attempted to use. His rap sheet has now been updated to include charges of Burglary of a Motor Vehicle—marking this as his second offense—Fraudulent Possession/Use of a Credit Card, and Burglary of a Building.
Further inquiry by the officers revealed the suspect had hit another establishment as well, from which stolen goods were recovered and subsequently returned to their rightful owners. The Splendora Police Department's prompt response and recognition of the suspect were instrumental in halting this latest spree of crimes.
The suspect is currently cooling his heels at the Montgomery County Jail, where he awaits trial for his alleged criminal buffet of burglary and fraud attempts. His case serves as a stark reminder that crime, especially when repeated, leads to the inevitable conclusion behind bars for yet another individual who, despite previous chances to reform, allegedly fell back into the cycle of offense and detention.
