Recent transactions have included a 16.6-acre purchase by Birnbaum Property Company at Highway 90 and Montgomery Road. This company, with a reputation for developing retail centers in Bexar County, has plans that include retail space and a multifamily development, according to the same report. Meanwhile, local firm Endura Advisory Group, through a newly-formed partnership, secured an 18-acre spot near Highway 90 and Highway 211, boasting an industrial warehouse ripe for leasing.

These moves come amidst a considerable growth spurt on the far West Side, with shopping centers and housing developments rapidly replacing what was once vast ranchland. Bexar County property records show that the area has been transforming to meet the needs of the increasing population, a trend only expected to continue.

Not to be left behind, tech firms are making their mark on the region as well. Vantage Data Centers has initiated the construction of two new substantial facilities. Set on Omicron Drive is a 243,000-square-foot data center with a hefty price tag of $95.8 million, and another $157 million project located on Rogers Road, as reported by the San Antonio Report. Both centers are due to be completed by 2026 and 2025, respectively.

With over thirty data centers already profiting from the region's stable electricity supply and low incidence of natural disasters, more are expected to emerge. Local developer Marty Wender advised the San Antonio Report that the trend is likely to continue, stating, "Probably within the next several years there will be 40," all consolidated on the West Side.

San Antonio's western expanses are thus becoming a hotspot for residential, retail, and technological ventures, with major firms betting big on the area's ongoing and future potential. As land gets parceled out and developments take shape, the far West Side stands out as a clear example of urban growth and transformation in the 21st century.
