The search for 15-year-old Sebastian Rogers, who has been missing since February 26th, continues to painfully stretch on. The Hendersonville teen, who is described as having autism, disappeared without a trace as local authorities and the family clutch onto hope. It has been three months to the day since Sebastian was reported missing from his mother's home, with little progress in finding his whereabouts.
The Sumner County Sheriff's Office and the family of Sebastian have been tirelessly working to follow up on every lead that has come in. Despite their efforts, Sebastian has not been spotted on any surveillance footage, nor have tangible clues emerged. According to WVLT, a pair of pants was found in early May and briefly thought to possibly belong to the teen, before quickly being dismissed as a false lead. The investigation, for the most part, appears to have hit a dead end.
The boy's father, Seth Rogers, has amplified the search efforts by hiring private investigators and petitioning to involve the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Seth's resolve remains unshaken as he continues to chart out search areas, convinced that "God's protecting him right now, and He will bring him home," he affirmatively told WKRN. Seth keeps Sebastian enrolled at Beech High School, holding unto hope for his son's return in the fall.
Expressing his adamant refusal to give up, Seth stated in a poignant interview with WKRN, "I'm looking for you, buddy... I am not going to stop, not until I find you, not until you are back in my arms." The Sumner County Sheriff’s Office, in their most recent statement, also noted they "are leaving no stone unturned to resolve this case" as they work closely with various law enforcement partners, including the FBI.
With the community rallying behind the Rogers family, Sebastian's name continues to permeate public consciousness through flyers, vigils, and events like a dedicated motorcycle ride. Sumner County Commissioner Don Schmit captured the collective sentiment, explaining, "that is where the hope comes in, that maybe you just reach that one individual that has seen something," during a conversation with WSMV. Sebastian is described as 5 feet, 5 inches tall, 120 pounds, with dirty blond hair, and was last seen wearing a black sweatshirt and black sweatpants.
