Drivers in Seguin can take a sigh of relief as I-10 West and US Highway 90 lanes have finally reopened. According to KSAT, the roadways were shut down for urgent repair works but are now clear for traffic following the completion of the necessary fixes by the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT).
Earlier in the day, congestion plagued Seguin travelers with I-10 Westbound and East Kingsbury Street closures for a bridge deck repair. The outside driving lane of I-10 west was out of commission as crews worked diligently on the site. FOX San Antonio reported that this was a temporary closure, and TxDOT promised that roads would be restored to full functionality before the 10 p.m. deadline.
During the repair process, officials encouraged commuters to seek alternate routes to avoid traffic snarls. The closure also impacted several westbound lanes of Highway 90 under I-10, increasing the need for drivers to chart new paths around the affected zones.
