South Fulton police are currently piecing together the circumstances behind a death at Freedom Park Apartments. The call came in overnight to the Delano Drive location and upon arrival, officers discovered a deceased male, as confirmed by FOX 5. The identity of the man has not been released.
Investigators shared that prior to his death, the individual had been involved in a physical altercation at the apartment complex on Monday. Found dead the following night around 10:15 p.m., as per WSB-TV, witnesses reported seeing the man with bruises. He was also recognized among locals for battling drug addiction, which led police to find him unresponsive later.
Present at the scene, the Fulton County Medical Examiner's Office is conducting an inquiry aiming to clarify the exact cause of death. While physical signs of a prior scuffle exist, it remains uncertain whether his involvement in the fight or potential drug-related complications played a role in the man's untimely demise.
"Witnesses advised that he was bruised, but also has a significant drug abuse history," a spokesperson for the South Fulton Police Department shared with FOX 5.
