A trio of individuals, including two minors, faces charges after police unearthed a firearm and narcotics at a Roxbury park during cleanup efforts. According to the Boston Police Department, officers nabbed 22-year-old Jamuan Terrell Coakley-Thomason of Charlestown, along with a 14-year-old and a 13-year-old, on various charges.
The arrests were made following a report on Monday morning about a firearm spotted in the park at 30 Mt Pleasant Ave. Police were informed en route that one of the suspects had returned to retrieve the weapon. Caught in a brief chase, the suspects were soon detained by authorities. During the apprehension, while conducting a frisk, officers discovered the 13-year-old was carrying a black Glock 34 in his backpack, complete with a magazine capable of housing 30 rounds.
Crack cocaine was also found during the booking, which was linked to Coakley-Thomason. He now faces drug-related charges. The 22-year-old is slated for arraignment at Roxbury District Court, as reported by the Boston Police Department. The juveniles, on the other hand, are to make their appearance at Boston Juvenile Court for their charges.
The young teenager was booked on accounts of unlawful firearm possession, carrying ammunition, and possessing a large capacity feeding device. Charged only with trespassing and found at the scene, the 14-year-old was brought in.
