Two adrenaline junkies took their need for speed to the streets and wound up behind bars Monday. Bexar County Sheriff's Office confirmed that Joshua Loaff, 22, and Isaak Combe, 20, were arrested after deputies spotted them racing along Gibbs Sprawl Road on the far Northeast Side. The illegal drag race ended with both their cars – a Dodge Charger and a Chrysler 300 – being impounded.
According to FOX San Antonio, the high-octane chase ensued near Wazlem with the Bexar County Sheriff's Deputies later apprehending Loaff and, Combe with the help of Converse Police Department. It's a race to the slammer now, as both men have been booked on charges of racing on a public roadway, a reckless act that turned their speedway dreams into a legal nightmare.
The incident unfolded in the 7100 block of Gibbs Sprawl Road, where the revved-up racers met their match in law enforcement officers patrolling the area. KSAT News reported that both vehicles involved in this daring display of road rage were seized as evidence of the crime.
Details released by BCSO state, that both individuals were booked into Bexar County Jail for racing on a public roadway – a charge that might put their driving days on hold. Authorities have not disclosed any further details on the suspects' motives or potential penalties. However, their actions that day ensured that the only race they'll be participating in for a while, is the one against the legal system.
