In a pair of late-night vehicular incidents, two individuals found themselves hospitalized following separate rollover crashes in San Antonio, authorities reported. The first accident occurred on Loop 410 on the South Side, near Old Corpus Christi Road. A driver, whose identity has not been released, was ejected from the vehicle after losing control and rolling over, according to KSAT. The incident took place shortly after 1 a.m. today.
The second incident involved another rollover crash, this time in Downtown San Antonio along Loop 410 near South Presa Street. The male driver was similarly thrown from the vehicle, being discovered by police on the ground, as reported by Fox San Antonio stated. He was transported to the hospital in serious condition, with no further details on the accident's cause released as yet.
Emergency responders attended to the first driver on the scene on Loop 410, where their car had strayed off the main lanes into a grassy area, struck a guardrail, and finally overturned. "The driver was ejected from the vehicle and taken to the hospital. They are expected to be OK," reported city officials. In both cases, the early morning had brought with it a harsh reminder, of the unpredictable nature of roadside disasters.
The San Antonio Police Department (SAPD) is currently investigating the circumstances leading up to each accident. While the drivers' recovery is underway, the lack of clarity about what precipitated these incidents underscores the inherent dangers present on the road, particularly in the twilight hours. No further details have been provided by officials regarding potential causes or contributing factors for either of the rollovers, the impact on traffic was not immediate clear. Both accidents remain under investigation by SAPD, as they work to piece together the moments that led up to the tumultuous events.
