Gunfire startled San Antonio neighborhood as a couple was shot while leaving an apartment complex, and another woman was targeted in her doorway in separate, brutal attacks, authorities said.

The first incident unfolded late Thursday night when a 29-year-old woman and a 28-year-old man were ambushed by bullets as they attempted to drive away from the woman's apartment on Pipers Creek Street. According to KENS 5, the man suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was in critical condition, while a woman remains stable after being taken to the hospital.

Within minutes of the first attack, a second shooter wrought havoc nearby. A 36-year-old woman answered her door to a burst of gunfire at an apartment complex located on Loop 410 near Wurzbach Road. She was rushed to the hospital in stable condition, following the violent ordeal that occurred around 11:20 p.m., as reported by KSAT.

In the aftermath of these events, San Antonio Police are in pursuit of the assailants. They confirmed that in the first shooting, the victims were acquainted with the suspect who vanished back into the apartment complex post-attack. The second gunman escaped before officers could arrive on the scene. As the two crime scenes are processed and the manhunt continues, the police have yet to establish a connection between the two shootings or disclose whether these were random acts of violence or deliberate attacks. The officials have stated that both incidents are active investigations.
