A tragic accident on the evening of May 23 left a Vassar man dead and a woman severely injured after their motorcycle was struck by an SUV in Tuscola County. According to WJRT, the 33-year-old male motorcyclist and his 29-year-old female passenger were riding on Frankenmuth Road around 9:30 P.M. when a GMC Terrain, driven by a 23-year-old woman from Flint, collided with their motorcycle.
The Tuscola County Sheriff's Office reported that the motorcycle was navigating a northward curve before the crash occurred. The male rider sadly was pronounced dead at the scene due to his injuries, while the female rider sustained major injuries. In a statement obtained by MLive, officials confirmed that both had been wearing helmets at the time of the incident.
The driver of the GMC reported only minor injuries following the crash.
