
A wanted man from Gwinnett County, reign of elusiveness dead-ended inside a stolen truck. According to FOX 5 Atlanta, Timothy Kevin Burke, a 46-year-old fugitive with outstanding warrants, was apprehended by the local law enforcement after he was found cruising in a vehicle reported stolen mere hours before in Jackson County.
The catchy break in the case unfurled on April 30 when officers patrolling Sugar Hill spotted the truck, lifted the veil on its illicit status, and conducted a traffic stop. The police discovered not only the dubious origin of the truck but also that Burke had two active warrants festering from other jurisdictions, as reported by Atlanta News First. The specifics of these warrants, however, were kept under wraps by the authorities.
Gwinnett County's finest booked Burke into the county jail on charges of theft by receiving stolen property, in addition to the prior warrants. A quick turnaround, the commandeered truck was returned to its rightful owner, a small victory for property rights in a world frequently dismissive of them.
Burke, now residing behind bars at Gwinnett County Jail will have to face the music for his latest alleged theft escapade.
