Early Sunday morning, gunfire shattered the stillness near Fort Sam Houston, leaving one woman injured in the wake of a seemingly random act of violence. The San Antonio Police Department responded to a call at the Motel 6 on Goldfield Drive at Industry Park Drive, where they found the victim struck by a stray bullet, as reported by KENS 5.

Police said the incident occurred just after 1 a.m. and involved a vehicle from which shots were fired at random. Standing outside her motel room, the unlucky woman was hit by the stray bullet. She was quickly taken to BAMC, fortunately sustaining non-life-threatening injuries, according to News 4 San Antonio.

The San Antonio police have found shell casings at the scene, which hints at the chaos of the early morning shooting spree. Despite this evidence, the authorities have yet to identify any suspects.
