A routine traffic stop in Worcester led to a juvenile's arrest after cops found a loaded revolver in a 16-year-old's possession. Officers, part of Worcester's Summer Impact program, were on patrol on Everett Gaylord Blvd on May 10th when they spotted a car ignoring a stop sign and showing expired tags. The vehicle was intercepted on Elliot St., according to the Worcester Police Department's press release.
As the officers engaged with the passenger, they noticed what seemed to be a gun handle sticking out of a bag at the passenger's feet. A loaded revolver was soon uncovered and the young passenger, whose name has not been released due to being a minor, was arrested on sight.
The teenager, who lacked any form of a gun license, is now facing charges for unlawfully carrying a loaded and unloaded firearm, improper storage of a firearm, and possession of ammunition without an FID card, authorities detailed. These legal entanglements await young adjudication. The bust came as an early outcome of the Summer Impact program, a program that involves increased patrols and engagement in areas with historically high crime rates.
