A domestic tragedy unfolded in Bedford, Massachusetts, where a 24-year-old woman is accused of shooting two individuals believed to be her parents, authorities announced. The Middlesex County District Attorney's office confirmed the death of a 56-year-old woman and the hospitalization of a 56-year-old man with life-threatening injuries following the shooting Thursday morning.
At roughly 9 a.m., Bedford police were alerted to the incident by a resident of the Washington Street home, who confronted the grim confession of the alleged shooter, Jessica Cavallaro. According to reports by MassLive, a handgun was recovered at the scene. District Attorney Marian Ryan, in a news conference, stated, "The investigation is obviously very new, and we are in the very early stages."
Officials initially received the distressing news from the person who lived with Cavallaro on Washington Street. Police found the victims inside a vehicle in an adjacent yard.
