In a bid to represent Texas at the Miss USA contest – and potentially advance to the Miss Universe stage – Teijo faces off against nearly a hundred other contenders in Houston. Teijo's participation comes after the Miss Universe organization revamped its rules, embracing a more inclusive stance by scrapping age limits, and allowing married, divorced or pregnant women to compete, as reported by USA Today. Despite recent leadership shake-ups within the organization, this hasn't dampened Teijo's spirit or drive.

A lifelong fitness enthusiast who grew up on a farm, Teijo has kept her passion alive through numerous fitness competitions over the years. Now, she adds another impressive chapter to her story.
