According to Ann Arbor police, the man allegedly targeted a Kroger supermarket before hitting a Walgreens store in Dundee a short time later. The suspect is accused of a particularly brazen act, approaching a cashier at Kroger at approximately 10:30 a.m., pretending to purchase an item, and then forcibly taking money from the register when the employee opened it.
The suspect's tactics were consistent in both incidents, as reported by CBS News Detroit. After pushing the Kroger employee, the individual fled on foot and was last seen escaping in a silver sedan. Fox 2 Detroit described a sequence of events in which the suspect, driving away, committed an identical robbery about 30 minutes later at the Dunding Walgreens, also robbing the cashier after a physical confrontation.
Authorities are now probing the link between the Ann Arbor and Dundee robberies, as the method of operation and the description of the suspect seem to indicate the same person is behind both crimes. Eyewitnesses have reported that after fleeing the Kroger store, the man was later observed driving north on US-23. In a statement obtained by Fox 2 Detroit, the Dundee police stated that "the robbery was identical to the Kroger one."
