The City of Arlington is on the lookout for civic-minded residents to shape the future of the city's infrastructure and community projects. Through July 31, Arlingtonians have the opportunity to apply to join the 2025 Citizens Bond Committee, a group tasked with the significant role of reviewing and recommending proposals for a bond program slated for voter consideration in May 2025.
Appointed by the City Council, the committee will be composed of 19 residents ready to commit to weekly discussions beginning on September 12, through to October 10. Members are expected to not just attend but to actively engage in each meeting as the sessions are designed to sequentially build upon each other, culminating in a finalized list of recommendations by December 2024, as reported by the City of Arlington, Texas.
To ensure that the voice of the Arlington community is heard loud and clear, the process will also include public input opportunities. These sessions will be available in both in-person and online formats, allowing residents to provide feedback on the proposed bond election that the bond committee will take under consideration.
The deadline for applications is firm, closing at 5 p.m. on July 31. The council plans to nominate the committee members on August 27. Interested parties are encouraged to submit their applications swiftly, as the selection process aims to represent a diverse cross-section of the Arlington community. For those looking to apply or seeking further information, resources can be found by accessing the Citizens Bond Committee application online or by reaching out to the Office of Strategic Initiatives at [email protected] or calling 817-459-6566.
