
A recent act of vandalism has drawn attention to the local business area surrounding 909 Ponce De Leon, specifically Fellini's Pizza. On June 8, Atlanta Police Department responded to a call at the iconic pizza establishment where an incident of aggression and property damage occurred.
The manager of Fellini's Pizza reported that a male suspect had aggressively entered their premises and was unresponsive to staff's repeated requests to leave, the suspect's actions were not just a simple trespass but also extended toward confronting a pregnant woman in the parking lot; this escalated concern prompted the call to 911. The situation took a turn for the worse when the suspect, after exiting briefly, returned only to become aggressive once more, hitting the glass door of the business which resulted in notable damage subsequently he fled the scene before police arrived.
According to the Atlanta Police Department's release, the individual responsible has been identified as Willie J. Grace (DOB 1/1972) thanks to video surveillance. With a background of prior arrests within Atlanta, the authorities have now secured arrest warrants for Grace. The department is actively seeking assistance in locating Mr. Grace to hold him accountable for his actions at Fellini's Pizza.
The unfortunate event raises concerns about safety and the consequences of unchecked aggression in public spaces, where businesses and bystanders can suffer the outcomes of individuals' disruptive behavior, Willie J. Grace's apprehension will likely bring relief to the employees and patrons who frequent the Ponce De Leon business corridor. Fellini's Pizza, amidst sorting through the aftermath and repairs, has continued its operations, serving the community as it has done for years.
