This Father's Day weekend, Boerne’s celebration of German heritage and community spirit revives with Das Festival of Kendall, packed with a parade, live music, and a medley of family-oriented contests. In the setting of the historic Hill Country Mile, this event runs from Saturday morning to Sunday evening at the Random Beer Garden. Visit Boerne Marketing Specialist Tori Bellos highlights that beyond the drawing of locals, it welcomes visitors for a memorable experience with events suitable for all ages.
Children 12 and under will find the admission gates open to them at no charge, while for others, the entry cost is a mere $5—a small price for a large slice of nostalgia with egg tosses, wheelbarrow races, and watermelon eating contests. Adults can test their mettle in stein-holding contests as spectators cheer and live melodies, courtesy of artists like Andy Garcia and the Boerne Village Band, ring through the venue.
Saturday's festivities kick off at 9:00 am, anticipating the parade at 10:00 am, and stretch into the midnight hour. Sunday follows suit starting at 9:00 am but wraps up at a more family-friendly time of 8:00 pm. The Random Beer Garden, nestled at 11 Upper Cibolo Creek Road, sets the stage for this throwback extravaganza, inviting people to revel in camaraderie and crafts.
