In a community-focused approach to addressing the sweltering summer heat, Cedar Hill Police and Community Team (PACT) partnered with The Senior Source and Community Missionary Baptist Church in a recent "BEAT THE HEAT" event. According to the Cedar Hill Police Department, the initiative was a resounding success, providing over 300 window AC units to residents in need on June 22.
As temperatures climb and the cost of living continues to burden many, the importance of community support networks has never felt more pronounced. The collaboration between law enforcement and community organizations underscores a shared commitment to the well-being of the most vulnerable residents, particularly the elderly who often suffer most during heatwaves. Officers and volunteers from both the police force and the church took an active role in distributing the air conditioning units, ensuring that they reached the hands of those who could benefit from them the most.
