According to KXAN, Austin-Travis County EMS, Lake Travis Fire Rescue, and other local first responders were called to the scene near 528-745 Highlands Boulevard, shortly before 4 p.m., where they found a concrete truck rolled over.

The incident resulted in one individual being pinned inside the truck, a situation from which crews were eventually able to extricate the victim. This person was reported to have sustained "potentially serious, non-life threatening injuries," and was transported to Dell Seton Medical Center, as noted by officials with Austin-Travis County EMS. Traffic on Highlands Boulevard heading towards Highway 71 was significantly impacted, with all lanes closed in the direction of the crash and only one lane open going the other way.

Specialized airlift support was provided by Travis County STAR Flight in response to the incident, indicating the critical nature of the rollover. Lake Travis Fire Rescue shared on social media that they cleared the scene by around 5:15 p.m. However, the City of Lakeway Public Works Department continued to collaborate with wrecker services in the removal of the turned-over concrete truck.

Detailing the emergency response, KVUE reported that the Lakeway Police Department also assisted in the operations. Besides handling traffic diversions, the department contributed to the swift coordination that was required to address the immediate dangers presented by such an occurrence. Officials have not released additional information about the cause of the accident or the current condition of the injured party as of Wednesday night.
