The Metropolitan Police Department is urging the public to come forward with any information that might lead to the apprehension of a suspect involved in a recent shooting in Northwest DC. The authorities have been on the lookout since the incident occurred early this month.
According to a press release from the DC police, the event took place on June 9, when officers were called to the 1900 block of Vermont Avenue, Northwest at around 2:43 a.m. On arrival, they discovered a woman suffering from gunshot wounds. The victim, whose identity has not been disclosed, was quickly rushed to a local hospital where she is being treated for injuries that have been described as non-life-threatening, a fortune in the midst of such a calamity.
The MPD’s official communication requested that anyone with insight into the incident contact their department. As investigators continue to piece together the circumstances of the shooting, the role of community information cannot be overstated. No details regarding the potential suspect or motives have been released thus far.
