Georgetown Independent School District has its new principal for Everette L. Williams Elementary School, gearing up for the 2024-2025 academic journey. Stepping into the leadership role is Dr. Jennifer Hinson, whose appointment was announced by the district. With an extensive career in education that spans various teaching and administrative positions, Dr. Hinson is all set to navigate Williams Elementary through the coming school year.
Experience is something Dr. Hinson has in abundance, having begun her teaching career in 2002 and climbing the educational ranks through various roles and states. Her previous stint as a principal in Prosper ISD saw her spearheading the collaboration with educators to align unit plans with state benchmarks, as detailed by Hello Georgetown. Garnering experience from her time as a school improvement specialist in Virginia and a program specialist in Alabama, Hinson brings a hearty mix of skills and regional insights.
With a robust academic background of her own that includes a bachelor’s degree in elementary education and advanced degrees - a master’s in education leadership and human development and a doctorate in education administration - the new principal is prepared to elevate Williams Elementary. Emphasizing collaboration and growth, Dr. Hinson aims to transform the campus into a forward-thinking "learning organization" aligned with the GISD ethos.
Dr. Hinson has made clear her commitment to the mission and vision of GISD, pledging to steer the school toward becoming a hub of inspiration and empowerment. "As principal, Hinson will lead campus transformation into a learning organization aligned to GISD beliefs, ensure actions and behaviors support the mission of GISD, and advance the campus toward the vision of being home of the most inspired students, served by the most empowered leaders," as stated by Hello Georgetown. The prosperity of the student Learner Profile is at the forefront of her educational approach.
