Tragedy struck on the West side of San Antonio earlier today when a man was fatally hit by a white SUV in a callous hit-and-run incident. The incident occurred roughly around 1:49 a.m. near the bustling intersection of Historic Hwy 90 and W Cesar Chavez Blvd, a juncture that last night became the grim stage for an untimely demise, as FOX San Antonio reported.
Witnesses recount the man, whose identity remains undisclosed, had just left a nearby establishment and was navigating across the street when the white SUV struck him and sped off down Historic Hwy 90 without pausing to offer aid, according to a Sergeant at the scene that KENS 5 interviewed, police have embarked on a search for the white SUV, in hopes of bringing closure to what has become a devastating hit-and-run.
The series of events leading up to the impact are not fully clear but what remains undisputed is the finality of its conclusion; the victim was pronounced dead right there on the scene by responding emergency medical services (EMS). No other injuries were reported surrounding the incident.
San Antonio Police, who are actively seeking the suspect, urge anyone with information regarding the white SUV or its driver to come forward.
