Early morning tranquility was pierced by gunfire on Golden Avenue in Long Beach yesterday, as a routine crime escalated into an armed confrontation. According to the Long Beach Police Department's blotter, at approximately 6:33 a.m., officers were called to the scene of a shooting in the 2700 block  of Golden Avenue after a man tried to prevent the theft of a motorcycle.

The initial investigation revealed that the male adult victim was in his vehicle when he spotted a motorcycle being stolen using a suspect vehicle. The confrontation began after the man attempted to intervene, leading him to follow the suspect's vehicle. 

This pursuit came to a volatile climax when "the male suspect fired a gun," as reported on the LBPD's official website. The victim, who fortunately sustained no injuries, then dissipated from the scene and immediately contacted law enforcement.
