A man has been detained and charged with injury to a child in Harris County this past week. On June 7, deputies responded to a disturbance in the 17800 block of Shadow Valley Drive, where the suspect, identified as Matthew Tonkin, was involved in a physical assault on a juvenile, reported Constable Mark Herman's Office.
According to the official Facebook page of Constable Mark Herman, Tonkin was arrested following the disturbance which resulted in the injury of a fourteen-year-old child local authorities arrived onsite where they detained and identified Tonkin before further investigation confirmed his involvement in the assault.
"Matthew Tonkin was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail, charged with Injury to a Child. His bond was set at $7,500.00 out of the 208th District Court." the constable's statement declared. Further updates on the case and Tonkin's legal proceedings will be disclosed as they become available.
