Harris County Standoff Ends Peacefully, Man Charged with Aggravated Assault on Peace OfficerSource: Facebook/Mark Herman, Harris County Constable Precinct 4

A tense situation in a Harris County neighborhood came to a peaceful conclusion after a standoff between law enforcement and a man who threatened deputies with a handgun. The incident took place on the 19000 block of Match Play Drive yesterday, where deputies responded to complaints of an irate individual causing havoc in the area.

Upon deputies' arrival, they encountered neighbors who reported the suspect, Christopher Bailey, recklessly driving and damaging property. Before they could confront him, Bailey emerged from his home wielding a firearm and proceeded to threaten the officers, only to then barricade himself inside his residence. The Harris County District Attorney's Office has accepted charges of Aggravated Assault on a Peace Officer against Bailey, according to a Facebook post by Constable Mark Herman.

Harris County SWAT was called to the scene and after some time, Bailey surrendered to the authorities. He was apprehended and taken into custody without further escalation.

"Christopher Bailey was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail, charged with Aggravated Assault on a Peace Officer," Constable Mark Herman shared in a public statement. Details regarding his bond and upcoming court hearings have not been made available at the time of the post.
