The City of Helotes has announced an opportunity for contractors, initiating a call for sealed bids for a substantial road improvement project within its limits. Qualified contractors are invited to submit their proposals for a project that consists of approximately 71,000 linear feet of crack-sealing work across various city streets. A process defined by the Texas Department of Transportation Specification 712 will to be closely adhered to, requiring cleaning and the sealing of joints and cracks as part of the road maintenance.
The city has set a firm deadline for bid submissions, with a closing time of 10:00 a.m. CST on Friday, July 26. Bidders are instructed to ensure their bids are sealed and conspicuously marked with the bid number, bid name, as well as the closing date and time on the outside of the package or envelope. According to the notice released on the City of Helotes' official website, submissions that fail to meet this criteria will not be opened and will be marked non-responsive. Furthermore, each bid packet must include "one original, one copy, and one electronic copy on a flash drive."
Interested parties are given two options for submitting their bids—either in person at the City Secretary's office, located at 12951 Bandera Road, Helotes, Texas, or by mail addressed to the City Secretary at PO Box 507, Helotes, Texas. The city has made clear that it will not accept bids that are sent via fax or email, emphasizing the importance of adhering to the specified submission methods.
For contractors seeking more information or clarity on the project requirements, the city has designated the Public Works Director, Corey Vullo, as the point of contact. Questions can be directed to his email at [email protected] with the subject line specified as “CSB #24-03 2024 Crack Sealing.” Contractors should ensure to apply this subject line to avoid any delays in response or miscommunication. All pertinent documents, including the full notice and the bid packet for the 2024 Crack Seal Project, are available for download from the city's website, where a dedicated page on Bid Notices is maintained for public access.
