Houston authorities are in the process of investigating a deadly shooting that took place over the weekend in the early hours of Saturday morning. The incident occurred at 8119 Jutland Road around 4:30 a.m. There, a 36-year-old man was found to have been shot multiple times and was discovered unresponsive in the driveway of a duplex residence. City of Houston News reported that the identity of the victim is still pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
Responding to a shooting call, HPD patrol officers were the first to arrive on the scene where they found the victim. The Houston Fire Department paramedics were quickly to follow and pronounced the man deceased at the scene. Detectives J. Caten and M. Barrow from the HPD Homicide Division are overseeing the investigation. As per witness accounts, there may have been an argument between the victim and an unidentified suspect before the shooting occurred, though at this current time, no suspect description has been established.
Information regarding this case remains sparse and police are calling on the public to come forward with any further details that could aid in apprehending those responsible. "Anyone with information in this case is urged to contact the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or speak anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS," authorities advised according to the report by City of Houston News. The lack of details surrounding the suspect makes the investigation particularly challenging as detectives work to piece together the events that led up to the tragedy.
The HPD has not yet to release additional information about the shooting or any developments in their search for the suspect.
