The fire, which was reported at 8:37 a.m. at 8405 Broadway St., 77061, resulted in an estimated $20,000 worth of damage and was subsequently determined to be accidental, stemming from a kitchen accident, according to the City of Houston News.
As firefighters combated the flames, one was reported to have sustained a leg injury, though no further details were given on the firefighter’s current condition; this scenario underscores the inherent risks that these individuals face even in routine calls to service.
