A series of shootings across Houston left two people dead and several injured in a span of eight hours, as reported by KHOU. The Houston Police Department responded to multiple incidents starting in the southwest part of the city, extending to the southeast side, and affecting communities with a sudden burst of violence.
The chaos began near the intersection of Hillcroft Avenue and Westward Street, where a man was shot twice and left in critical condition. Details from the Houston Police X feed indicate that the suspects fled in a dark-colored sedan. No description of the gunmen has been released. Not long after, a home invasion on Wilcrest Drive turned deadly when a man defended himself by shooting the intruder, while a second man connected to the incident managed to escape.

As the violence spread throughout the city, another man was injured in a seemingly random occurrence, recounting to authorities that he was shot in the leg while crossing the street, again on Wilcrest Drive, as per Lieutenant Larry Crowson in a statement obtained by KHOU. In the evening, a young man met his end inside the garage of an apartment complex on Selinsky Road, while another was critically wounded and a teen suffered from being pistol-whipped in this same spate of incidents.
Additionally, Harris County Precinct 4 deputies reported two shootings that happened late last night on FM 1960 near Ramblewood Drive, which resulted in further injuries. The violence did not cease there—around 11:30 p.m., a woman fell victim to a stray bullet on Texas Street, near Edgewood Drive.
The Houston Police Department continues its investigation into these shootings, looking for leads and asking the public to come forward with any information that may aid in apprehending those responsible for the disruption.
