
A tragic scene unfolded over the weekend at a Houston apartment complex where a 5-year-old girl was found unresponsive in a swimming pool. Authorities were called to the 2828 Rogerdale Road address around 8:10 p.m., Saturday, where they discovered the child, according to an official release from the Houston Police Department.
The young girl, whose identity has not been released, was transported to a local hospital. Unfortunately, efforts to revive her were unsuccessful and she was pronounced dead. It is thought that she drowned, but the case remains open pending autopsy results from the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
Detectives from the HPD Homicide Division, E. Torres II, and A. Graf II have taken up the investigation. The department is calling for anyone with information related to the incident to come forward.
Speaking on the matter, an HPD spokesperson urged, "Anyone with additional information in this case is, urged to contact the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600."
