HOUSTON – In an unsettling discovery, the Houston Police Department is investigating the death of a man whose body was found in a bayou in the city's southeast side. The scene became the focus of law enforcement Friday afternoon after officers were called to Sims Bayou, near Central Street, around 2:30 p.m., as reported by ABC13.
Flying overhead, SkyEye captured images of the area cordoned off with crime scene tape, though details about the man's identity or the circumstances of his death have not yet been released. Found near Central Street, police have not indicated the condition of the body or how long it may have been in Sims Bayou.
According to the Houston Police via X, the deceased individual is an adult male, and their focus is now on piecing together the events that led to the body's immersion in the water. The Eastside officers who are conducting the investigation have centered their activities at the 1800 block of Central.
