In the early hours of Tuesday, the tranquil night was shattered by a violent incident in Houston. A Hispanic woman, in her early 40s, was found suffering from gunshot wounds at a gas station on Pinemont. As FOX 26 Houston reports, police received a call around 3:30 a.m. and rushed to the 6600 block of Pinemont, where they found the injured woman.
The scene was cordoned off by the authorities, who had arrived in anticipation of finding evidence at the gas station, yet it seems the bullets found the woman at a different location, as she couldn't provide a cogent address. Transported to a local hospital, her condition remains undisclosed. Found injured, she told the responding officers she had been shot by her boyfriend, this fact given to us by KIAH's coverage of the grim discovery.
Currently, the Houston Police Department (HPD) is in the throes of an investigation into the matter. Their efforts are stymied, however, by the lack of clarity around the actual location of the shooting, and the victim's inability to offer the necessary details at the time. What remains clear is that the invasion of a bullet has marked her body, and a specter of violence looms in the quiet streets where it occurred.
