
Tragedy struck Goodyear yesterday morning when a body was discovered in a burning car, setting off a wave of law enforcement activity and local curiosity. The gruesome discovery was made at around 7 a.m. near the intersection of 143rd Avenue and Indian Springs Road, according to officials from the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office.
Firefighters doused the blaze that had engulfed the vehicle, only to find the charred remains of an individual within, as reported by AZFamily. The Maricopa County Sheriff's deputies, who arrived in tandem with fire crews, secured the scene, but the victim's identity has yet to be revealed, the name, taken by flames or perhaps something darker yet to be uncovered.
Mystery shrouds the incident as detectives are currently piecing together the events that led up to the fire, with the hope of shedding light on both the identity of the deceased and the cause of the fatal fire, as noted by FOX 10 Phoenix.
