According to WOOD TV, the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety responded to a rollover crash around 12:20 a.m. at the intersection of Southtown Street and S Pitcher Street. Brayon Jones, 45, was ejected from the vehicle and later succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.

The single-vehicle crash led to Jones being thrown from the vehicle after which officers and EMS attempted lifesaving measures en route to the hospital, "where he was pronounced dead", as reported by News Channel 3. While there were two other individuals involved in the accident, their conditions have not been publicly disclosed.
