Lake Havasu City was disrupted by an alarming blaze earlier this week when a residential fire broke out in the South Cisco neighborhood. Lake Havasu City Fire Department (LHCFD) responded to the incident at a house under renovation on Monday, June 3, at around 9:45 p.m. Firefighters arrived to find significant flames emanating from the patio and deck area of the unoccupied property.
The fire department, comprising three engine companies, a truck company, a medic unit, and a battalion chief worked quickly to manage the situation, suppressing the fire in less than fifteen minutes. This rapid action helped avoid an escalation that could have threatened nearby homes, however, one firefighter did suffer minor injuries in the course of duty.
Additional support was rendered by Desert Hills Fire, which provided coverage for Lake Havasu City during the firefighting efforts. Through the combined endeavor, the incident did not progress beyond the initial site.
The aftermath of the fire saw crews stay on the site for about two hours. The LHCFD continues to look into the cause of the fire. Through community outreach, they offer assistance for those who need smoke alarms or help putting together a fire safety strategy, the fire department urges citizens to be vigilant and prepared.
