Slated to kick off at 4:00 p.m. at the LOT Downtown, a centrally-located open-air venue, the celebration is part of the nationwide festivities commemorating the Emancipation Proclamation and the end of slavery in the United States.

According to a recent post by the City of Mansfield, Texas, the event schedule is packed with diverse acts including a DJ set to begin the event, performances by the Mansfield HS JROTC & Color Guard, and compelling anthems. The stage will also shine a light on a range of talents with a 'Celebration in Dance', music by Harmone, and an explosive set from Xplosive Dance Academy. A special 'Tribute to the Divine 9 Step Team' is anticipated to honor historically Black fraternities and sororities.

A mix of humor and solemnity is on the agenda, with Avie Warren set to bring some comedy at 6:10 p.m., followed by a soul-stirring performance by a gospel choir. Wrapping up the entertainment will be the Common Ground Stage Band, known for its rich blend of sounds that promise to keep the crowd engaged.
