The Metropolitan Police Department is actively seeking assistance from the public to locate a suspect involved in a shooting that occurred in the southeastern region of the city.
According to the official MPD release on Monday, May 20, 2024, a person was shot in the 800 block of Yuma Street, Southeast, at around 3:45 p.m. The incident was executed by a suspect from within a moving vehicle, as they fired a handgun at the victim and promptly left the area.
The injured party, who sustained non-life-threatening injuries was quickly transported to a nearby hospital for treatment following the shooting. Details concerning the identity of the victim or the motive behind the attack remain undisclosed at this point.
