As Miami gears up for another week of stormy weather, residents brace for scattered showers and thunderstorms following a breezy and wet start to Sunday. Forecasters predict the trend of scattered storms will continue, which could be a blessing in disguise for parts of South Florida experiencing moderate drought conditions.
According to the National Weather Service's latest update obtained through their website, there's a 60% chance of showers and thunderstorms today, with expected highs to hover around 86 degrees. This wet pattern is set to stick throughout the week, bringing with them more than just a handful of rain.
On the flip side, NBC Miami's forecast suggests a slightly lesser chance of precipitation at 50%, with temperatures slated to remain seasonably warm in the upper 80s. "Early morning downpours have been around to start Sunday. Breezy conditions will continue today with morning activity becoming more inland but remaining scattered this afternoon,” reports NBC Miami. Monday is expected to follow the same pattern, with showers likely and possible thunderstorms in the afternoon.
However, an expected touch of dry air may offer a brief respite on Tuesday and Wednesday, potentially lowering rain chances and managing the otherwise high humidity levels typical for this time of the year. Regardless, the reprieve is predicted to be short-lived, with the onset of daily storm potential looming for the rest of the week, NBC Miami notes.
Looking ahead, the forecast by the National Weather Service indicates a 50% chance of showers and thunderstorms on Monday night, and mostly cloudy skies with a low around 77 degrees. Though the possibility of rain persists, the outlook from Thursday onwards suggests a decrease in shower and thunderstorm chances, providing a glimpse of relief for residents.
Despite the likelihood of rain each day, temperatures throughout the coming days are expected to rise, reaching a high near 94 by Saturday. With the fluctuation of downpours and sunshine, locals are advised to remain prepared for inclement weather while hopefully enjoying interim periods of sunny skies.
