Multiple-Vehicle Rollover Crash on I-35 in Austin Results in Injuries and Highway Closure

Early Thursday morning, a serious incident disrupted the flow of traffic on I-35 in Austin, leading to injuries and a temporary closure of the highway. According to CBS Austin, a rollover crash involving multiple vehicles occurred near East 51st Street, which resulted in three individuals being injured — authorities responded to the emergency around 12 a.m.

The Austin Police Department informed the public through social media that they were managing the scene and as the situation developed, Austin-Travis County EMS confirmed that one person had sustained serious, potentially life-threatening injuries and two others had non-life-threatening injuries in the crash and they were transported to the hospital for care, thus giving a clearer picture of the repercussions of the early morning calamity. The police later posted on social media that the scene indicated that all lanes were shut down at the time which created significant delays but, the road was eventually reopened though what caused the crash remains uncertain at this time.
