According to KVUE, among the injured, two adults have been described as having life-threatening injuries and were rushed to Ascension Seton Hays and Dell Seton Medical Center at The University of Texas. A juvenile was transported to Dell Children’s Hospital as a serious trauma alert. The effort to transport these patients required the coordinated efforts of both ground and air medical services, including STAR Flight, to quickly provide critical care.
The emergency response included Austin-Travis County EMS deploying four ambulances to the scene and the Travis County Sheriff's Office assisting with the occurrence. The site of the crash was inundated with flashing lights and urgency as clinicians and officers worked to attend to the wounded and investigate the circumstances of the collision.
Travis County Sheriff’s Office was also on scene to manage the aftermath and is presumably yet to conduct a traffic investigation to determine the cause of the crash. For the time being, Austin-Travis County EMS has advised drivers to avoid the area to prevent interference with the ongoing emergency operations and the subsequent clearing of the wreckage.
