
An incident in Owosso, Michigan, has led to one individual being taken into custody following reports of gunfire early Monday morning. According to WNEM, officers responded to the 800 block of Lyon Street where they identified and arrested a suspect. Kevin Lenkart, the Public Safety Director, assured the public that despite the alarming event, no injuries were reported.
"The safety of our residents is our top priority," Lenkart stated, as per an account by WNEM. The quick response of law enforcement and the cooperation of community members helped maintain that safety following an incident. WLNS shed additional light on the nature of the shooting, reporting that the suspect in question was allegedly discharging a firearm into the air and into an unoccupied car. Details about the suspect's identity and the number of shots fired have been withheld due to the ongoing investigation. There was also no confirmation from Public Safety Director Lenkart about whether the gun was recovered at the scene, as reported by WLNS.
The suspect, now detained at the Shiawassee County Jail, has not been publicly named, as per WLNS.
