Firefighters in Phoenix quickly snuffed out a brush fire that flared up near a busy road early Monday morning. According to ABC15, the blaze erupted close to 43rd Avenue and Broadway Road, prompting the temporary shutdown of a stretch of Broadway Road in west Phoenix. While the fire department managed to fully extinguish the fire, no structures were reported to have been damaged.
The blaze managed to quickly disrupt traffic as officials closed down Broadway Road between 41st and 43rd avenues to tackle the fire. Firefighters worked through the night, and by around 5:10 a.m., they had the situation under control. Despite the early morning disruption, the road has since reopened, restoring a sense of normalcy to the area's Monday morning commute.
No injuries have been reported, and the scene was cleared of any immediate danger. "Firefighters will stay at the scene to make sure all remaining hotspots are extinguished," a Phoenix fire official stated in coverage by ABC15.
Authorities have yet to determine what sparked the blaze. Firefighters remain vigilant, committed to preventing any flare-ups that could reignite the area. "Officials closed Broadway Road in the area during the early morning hours to assist with firefighting efforts," reported AZFamily. The investigation into the cause of the fire is ongoing, with authorities gathering evidence in hopes of pinpointing the origin.
