Heads up, commuters: PennDOT has just laid out the plan for upcoming guide rail repairs on a couple of major roadways in Bucks County, so you might want to rethink your typical route if you're planning to hit I-95 or I-295 on the weekdays. Starting Monday, June 17, and continuing through Friday, June 28, expect lanes closed off between 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM. Specifically, we're looking at closures on I-95 from Academy Road to the Route 413 interchanges, along with a stretch of I-295 linking up with I-95 and going to New Hope, PennDOT reports.
These repairs aren't exactly popping up at the most convenient of times. During these selected hours, when most of us are buzzing to or from lunch breaks or meetings, the hassle of lane closures can translate to traffic backups and the kind of delays that have you questioning your life choices. PennDOT's not deaf to the potential drama. They tell everyone to pad their schedules if they plan to navigate these areas. Don't say you weren't warned because, at any time, road work and busy schedules collide. The resulting traffic is often nothing short of a nail-biting, steering wheel-clenching experience.
